Golden Hour Angus Field Engagement Photos| Emily and Gabriel

Engagement or pre-wedding shoots seem to be getting more popular these days, expecially amongst couples looking to create beautiful memories of their journey together as a couple. But what is all the fuss behind an engagement or pre-wedding shoot?

What is an engagement shoot?

An engagement or pre-wedding shoot is a short photo session with your wedding photographer a few months or even a year before your big day. You choose a location that best suits you, perhaps a memorable place or somewhere you really like the look of and want to venture out to. This session is your chance to get used to being in front of the camera, build rapport with your photographer, and receive a lovely album of your engagement/pre-wedding shoot well before your wedding. Pro Tip: you can even use some of these photos for your save the dates, invitations or pin up on a photo board on your big day ;)

A short while ago, I had the pleasure of documenting a pre-wedding shoot for this fun-loving couple, Emily and Gabriel. They chose to have their pre-wedding shoot in some of the most spectacular fields situated within Angus - the birthplace of Scotland. This was a location that was meaningful to them and I must say, it was beautiful and filled with rolling landscapes.

As we ventured through nature, I let the couple explore the area and wonder about as I snapped up a few shots along the way. We were blessed to have picked a time around sunset, as we were able to capture the most stunning shots during 'golden hour' (a must see in the gallery below). Finally, for me, this is probably the part I LOVE the most about what I do (meeting new people and documenting something special for them). Pre-wedding shoots offer a great opportunity to meet up in person prior to your wedding day, but also a chance for us to chat more about your wedding and get an update on the progress of your plans. We can't wait to capture Emily and Gabriels wedding day in a beautiful estate in Angus next year!! And certainly can't wait to blog the story of their wedding day on here...

Without further ado, here are the golden moments of their engagement/pre-wedding shoot...
