Here is the beautiful story of Agata and Laimonas who chose Scotland as the destination for their elopement - at the extravagant and fairytale Glenapp Castle.
Glenapp Castle wedding photographer and videographer
Glenapp Castle is a luxurious 5-star castle retreat found on the South Ayrshire coast surrounded by stunning forests, woodlands and seascapes. All set in the Victorian Splendour of their private estate, the castle offers couples everything they need to plan the perfect elopement. Tucked away in 110 acres, couples are assured of an intimate and enjoyable experience in a truly beautiful setting for a romantic wedding. As Scottish wedding and elopement photographers and videographers, we thoroughly enjoy travelling to so many wonderful wedding venues across Scotland and documenting so many love stories, but Glenapp Castle was something special. There was so much to work with at this venue that we were overwhelemd by the number of picturesque spots - from their beautiful outdoor garden onsite to the victorian glasshouse. You can even complement your stay at this gorgeous venue with a boat or helicopter adventure to the Ardbeg Whisky Distillery on the Isle of Islay! Surely, it can’t get more adventurous than that!
Agata and Laimonas started their day by getting ready in separate rooms as they still wanted to follow tradition of being separate before the ceremony and for the first look to be the moment Agata walked down the aisle. Agata looked absolutely gorgeous in her dress which she found when she was home in Poland adorned with a beautiful flower crown and bouquet from the lovely Nicola Jayne Flowers. Laimonas looked dapper in his suit which was also from Poland so it was nice to have ‘elements of home’ as part of their special day.
The couple had a small intimate ceremony where Agata gracefully walked in to the ceremony room to the very talented harpist, Meredith McCrindle, beautifully playing the theme song of Beauty and the Beast. During the ceremony, the couple decided to include the Scottish tradition of hand-fasting to symbolise the binding of their lives together as one.
After the ceremony, the couple went outside to the beautiful Gertrude Jekyll gardens where we documented their moments together as they explored the grounds as newlyweds. With such good weather, we were fortunate to be able to capture an aerial view of the wonderful grounds, which was definitely a sight to behold!
As wedding and elopement videographers, documenting in real time allows us to capture every emotion, every movement and every word as it is said, seen or taking place. There is nothing more special than being able to relive every moment of your wedding day but also having the film to show to close family and friends and give them the feeling of being present in the moment.
If you are planning a Scottish elopement wedding or perhaps an intimate castle wedding in Scotland, we would love to hear from you! But for now, have a watch of the elopement video of Agata and Laimonas and let us know what you think!
